PlotStorming.com is a site dedicated to writers, role playing gamers, and fans who enjoy any genre of fiction: fantasy, sci-fi, pulp, horror, western -- we're not picky. Specifically, the site nurtures literary creativity through friendly community discussion, daily inspirational writing prompts, contests, and helpful critiques. After the fun we had with the May Contest we intend to keep the ball rolling. PlotStorming.com's June Contest: Embrace Your Inner Villain The idea for this contest is to get in touch with a villain inside you and write about them. Either develop a villain and come up with a short character biography, or write a short story from the villain's perspective. What would the Lord of the Rings Trilogy been like if it had been written from Sauron's point of view? How about the original Star Wars Trilogy from Darth Vader's or even the Emperor's PoV? What would a short biography for Steven King's Crimson King be like? Such lofty goals may not be obtainable with the word cap, but the entries should still be chocked full of devious, megalomaniacal, and/or twisted goodness. And what's a villain story without a couple catchphrases or signature objects? Each entry must include either two witty, threatening, humorous, ominous, etc phrases; two signature objects; or one catchphrase and one object that the villain will be associated with. To summarize, every entry must have the following characteristics: Format: Character Description/Biography [Character] or Short Story [Short] Concept: A villain biography or a short story from the villain's PoV Extras: The entries must include catchphrases and/or signature objects (make them bold so we can fully appreciate them) Word Count: 1000 to 2500 words Judging: Once again, the judges for the contest will be the community. Creativity, originality, and quality will be the keys. If you're interested, stop by, read the rules, and let your villain come out and play!
