Heya Daniel,

Having lived 4.5 years in Munich and visited Rothenburg o.d. T.many times its nice to see it again. Did you manage to spend any time in any of the little Wein Stubes?

-W.

Hey, LC. First, thanks for listening. :)

I spent 2 days and 3 nights in Rothenburg and, small as the city is, I still didn't see everything there was! We did not go to one of the wein stubes (wine rooms); we did, however, sample a good number of the local pubs and small restaurants and had ample amounts of beer, as well as quite a few Schneeballs (round pieces of sugar-dusted fried dough).

I'm glad you liked the episode (sorry if it was the version with the weird electronic noises; those have been fixed now, if you'd like to redownload). Feel free to recommend it to friends who may enjoy it as well.

I have to say this was an excellent episode. Rothenburg is the type of town Id love to visit, or even just set a game in. Nicely done again Daniel.

Chuck

Thanks for the kind words, Chuck. :)

And as I told you via your blog, in the upcoming shows on Brussels, Brugge and Amsterdam, your new product on merchants and guilds is going to get some Gamer Traveler love.

Another freakin' score for the Gamer Traveler. Well done Daniel.

BTW, did you ever get to Nuremburg? Destroyed during WWII but rebuilt on the medieval city plans, so really gorgeous. The hostel is in a castle (well more fortress really, but that's splitting hairs)!

Hey, Fraser. No, we didn't get to visit Nuremburg on that visit to Germany, just Rothenburg and Munich (with a side-trip to Dachau--which will eventually be an episode--and Neuschwanstein). Germany is a country I want to go back to and explore more, especially the Black Forest and various of the WWII sites.

You know, if you went to Nuremburg, you could drop by the show's forum and tell us your travel stories there. I'm just saying. ;)

I think everyone should have to visit Dachau. Everyone. I actually went there alone, and I honestly don't think I would want anyone around me on such a visit. Just heart and gut wrenching.

1989 . . . hmmmm, let's see what I can remember . . . the beer was good!

But I will stop by.

Yep. Even though I was with my wife (gf at the time), we kept a personal space at times, though it was good to have someone to lean on at other times... These are things I'll address whenever I do that episode, or on conversations after it.

Happy you like the show, Fraser.
