Poker Chips Under Mini Bases

An awesome alternative to placing tiles or tokens beneath the miniatures is to put plastic rings (like the ones from plastic bottles) *over* the mini. It is much easier to place on the miniature, and they come in such a wide variety of colors. Coca-cola Classic bottlescaps are all red, perfect for denoting bloodied miniatures.

Our DM uses rings made from coloured paperclips, which is probably one of the cheapest ways to obtain markers in large quantities and multiple colours.

No. They're 25mm. Hence being called "25mm minis".

What?

No. That's not what "25mm" means.

25mm means that a human miniature (6 feet) stands 25mm tall. (Although most 25mm scale miniatures are actually closer to 30mm now due to "heroic" scale inflation.)

WotC miniatures have a 1-inch base (for Medium-size creatures) because that's what the rule system calls for.

I use these awesome wooden markers.

WyrmScales on Etsy

They are cheap and come in a handy tin for storage. And they stack easily without the drawbacks (and cost) of magnets.
Those markers are pretty close to what I am looking for. But they are expensive. I think the seller has jut bought wooden chips from somewhere, put them in a tin, and put a decal on it. Good for her, but costly for me.

I would rather just have twice as many wooden chips for 1/3 the cost.

Of course, I may end up buying these anyway! So thanks for the link. :)
