There's yet another thread about piracy: http://www.enworld.org/showthread.php?t=223262 These things are like fire engines whizzing past. I can't help but watch. Umbran has already been in once to calm it down. I'm all for free speech, but I understand why you have a ban on politics here. We're here to talk about our fun little RPG hobby world and the strong feelings drawn forth by political discussion can end the fun rapidly. There are other places I can go if I want to talk about politics. File sharing arguments are ultimately about politics, and like explicitly political discussions, somebody invariably makes a strong statement that other people just can't get past. Some would say that these stances are about morals. Not at their base, because your morals on whether information can be owned as physical property is very much informed by your political beliefs. Most people can agree that authors should be compensated for their work, but how to make that happen puts us into the realm of legislation and thus politics. Somebody almost always says something nasty. Remember when that admin, Reanjr, said copyright violators should be executed? Well, anyway, if you were to add piracy to the avoided topics list I wouldn't miss it anymore than I'd miss whizzing fire engines because there were no fires. If you don't, no big deal. Just putting in my two cents. Sam
