Polymorph Question with a Twist

Using the Chain Spell meat-magic feat (which allows the caster to "arc" certain spells to multiple targets), on the spell Polymorph Other (which qualifies as a spell that can be Chained):

If both enemies and allies are within the allowable parameters of the spell/feat, could a chained Polymorph Other cause the enemies to be changed into one type of creature, and the allies to be changed into another type of creature?

My initial instinct is no (it's a single spell that is affecting multiple targets), but I am interested if there are any arguments to the contrary.

Agreed. Chain-spell should not allow changing the nature of the spell mid-stream. It should just take the spell as cast and "chain" it to multiple targets.
