The god has plans for the church and needs to loose credibility because the rest of the church has "slid" a little.  He wants the church to look like jerks, because that will make the rest of the church mind their p's and q's.2. Periodically the god plants people who he know's wont be able to walk the path for their entire life in the church.  He uses these people to force the rest of flock to understand and fully practice the art of forgiveness.3. The god is tired of the institutional mentality that has taken over the church *hard to prevent if it has a long history* and wants to shake things up.... to get people to view certain aspects of the church and faith a bit differently.joe b.</blockquote>
