Well I tend to include Journal (for notes, mapping etc) Quill Ink vial Grapple on the rope (useful for catching ridges, or for swinging forward as you move down a corridor, the weight usually triggering pit traps etc..before you get to them). Change of clothes (never know when you might get wet, gooped etc...) Water"skin" full of dust (holding it under arm and pressing down expels the duct out in a cloud, great for finding invisible creatures). Collapsible pole (your stereo typical 10' pole, but it made of four pieces that slot into one another, makes it far more carriable) Small iron cookpot (you never know when you might need a warm meal..sometimes cold rations just aren't enough, plus can be used for other things, boiling down herbs, and fats etc...) Dagger (1001+ uses, if a silver dagger then it covers that need too ,g>) Nails (more useful than people think, use the ruined bed to nail the door shut, or build a makeshift ladder etc...) 2 Small Bells (hang them on the twine, and you have a makeshift alarm and early warning system). Bedroll & Blanket. (again you don't know how cold or wet the place you may sleep in a dungeon may be, plus blankets can be torn down into makeshift bandages, or stretchers) Bag of Stones (useful for testing for illusions, and also for marking trap locations, routes taken etc... a backup for chalk really)
