Positive Depictions of Fandom

First Post
I've heard that Trekkies isn't. I've seen Second Skin and it certainly isn't.

So what documentaries about fans and fandom are there that are accurate and positive?

Or has fiction been the forerunner with this, via Galaxy Quest and The Guild?

Any suggestions would be most appreciated...

Positive ? None that I know of. Heck, even when Kevin Smith was doing a live remote for the Tonight Show from ComicCon he took the usual "Hey, look at the geeks!" approach (which struck me as non-genuine given that he was the author of the DareDevil comic book at the time).

In recent years network TV has done a better job of the portrayal - scenes of fan culture from "Heroes" and "The Big Bang Theory" have the ring of authenticity to them.

I think there is one called Brown Coats, it's about the fans of Firefly. It was pretty positive though not all that exiciting. :D

The closer to truth and further from stereotype, the more positive depictions seem to be.

Definitely have Paul Feig to thank for a reasonably positive portrayal of geeks in that awesome series. It took a lot of letter writing and petition signing and such a couple of years back to get F&G onto DVD. So glad it happened.
