Positive energy wanted, STAT!

Good news -- opthamologist said he should make a full recovery; he has some minor cornea scratches that should heal without affecting vision. It matters: he's a performance dog and would have had to retire if he'd lost the sight in that eye. We're very relieved.

@diaglo: Sorry to hear about Molly. She was a good pooch.

@JoeBlank:

- Take a basic obedience course (at a local dog training center -- one of the best in the state is in Decatur -- or even at a PetsMart, though I favor a training center).
- Make sure the dog is employed, and gets plenty of exercise. Walk at least once a day, plus chase balls or frisbee, etc.
- Good TV shows: "Dog Whisperer", "It's Me or the Dog"
- Walk every day
- Get good chew toys. At six months (we have a 6-month old puppy) they are still teething. We avoid anything made outside the US or with preservatives. "Bully sticks" (er, dehydrated bull pizzle) make great all-natural dog pacifiers for dogs of all ages.
- Good books: "Don't Shoot the Dog: The New Art of Teaching and Training" (a bit technical, though)
- Did I mention walk every day?
