Looking for some creative assistance on the following scenario. It is the background for how the character became "possessed". Here are the main ideas of the background and a summary of what it will be like. The character was the Lord of a small kingdom, beset by attack from his rival. The odds were against him as his rival was able to secretly conscript mercenaries twice the size of both Lords standing armies, and the rival Lord was able to close down all roads leading out of the kingdom which has prevented reinforcements. The character has been a good Lord and is very just, forgiving and understanding. As a result corruption has also seeped into his kingdom. As the seige progresses an underlying cult of Necromancers approaches the king with an offer to enchant his blade with magic that could capture the souls of all he slew in battle, making him strong enough to stand alone against the armies of his Rival, and saving the kingdom. The necromancers, however, had another purpose, they did not lie though, and all of the kings priest saw what they said as true. After the ceremony the king waded through the first battle, slaughtering hundreds and sending the army fleeing back, during the battle, the King felt out of control of what was occuring and those who plead for surrender fell to the blade as well, instead of being captured. Then he realized what the blade had done. The Necromancers were controlling him through the spirits that were housed in the blade. And so the War grew into a game of cat and mouse as the dominated king at the will of the necromancers hunted down and slaughtered every opposing force in the Kingdom, the rival Lord was able to flee, and flee he did, with some remanents of his army in tow. With the War over the king was more powerful than anyone could imagine, the souls of thousands augmenting his power, the day he returned to his Castle a council was called. And all the necromancers who wraught this blade were named High Councilmen, and the king was but a puppet to their will. But the blade had another idea. The power that seethed within it grew beyond the bounds of the Necromancers control, and it begged the king for their deaths, and he accepted their offer. As the last Necromancer fell to the floor the bonds that bound the spirits to the blade snapped, and the last concious visions of the king were seen through clouded eyes, as the spirits of a thousand corrupted soldiers possessed his body and his mind, oblitering what was left of his conciousness. Now the king is a walking 'demon' possessed by the spirits, a purely chaotic and very malevolant being. So there it is, I know the grammar is terrible. Its just information, some input is appreciated. And if someone could take the time to write a small bardic song regarding the 'History' maybe 16-24 lines, it would be GREATLY appreciated!
