The era its set in is durring the midevil period of earth. Many ppl played and interacted with NPC AIs as if they were real ppl. Your average futuristic game. but then something happens on the outside world where all human life vanishes off the planet via an alien virus from a comit that colided with earth. The AI OS being aware of whats going on outside begins evolving its program in order to survive allowing it to control machines through the networks we left behind in order to maintain itself. Unfortunately as the AI OS evolved so did the world it ran. It is now roughly 200 or so years after the apocolyptic events that wiped out mankind. The former NPC characters actually evolved to have lifespans and became individuals no longer completely bound to the AI OS. The time period in the VR world is now in the early 21st century.. our time. the people of this world are completely oblivious to the world beyond the now super computer main frame in wich it exists. We are nothing more than Data.. 0s & 1s. Our world gov'ts are actually controled by the AI OS in order to maintain stability in the mainframe since we are independant from it. All humans are classified as Data.. neutral entitees. However, just as Data evovled so have digital Virii. They have taken form of beast like creatures existing in the shadows and can even infect Datas (people) through vampiric like encounters.  Since Virii is a threat to the AI's world the AI OS had to create Vaccine programs in the form of NSA like agencies. They are of course armed with AV (Anti-Viral) weaponry that seem more like something out of Doom or Unreal than what we normally see used on the streets or in wars. Also if a Virus (or a Virus infected Data) attacks and doesn't kill its victim there is a 50/50 chance of infection if immediately treated otherwise they are infected. To keep the knowlage of the existance of Virii, the AI OS hacks into the person's mind and overwrites their memories. Sometimes when a person's memories can't be overwriten they are captured to be either converted to a vaccine, complete mind wiped, or deleated. If the Vaccines are met with hostility they are considered Maverick Data and are treated as criminals. They are then completely isolated from the world: all the minds of your friend's & relitives are hacked and your very existance is removed, even gov't records are rewritten. Most Mavericks go into hiding. Others group together forming a kind of underground fending off both Virii & Vaccine alike.So what do you all think?</blockquote>
