No, you're not a dummy.

Above's a link to my site containing a large zipped Excel spreadsheet for determining the PA which maximizes the average damage/round a parameterized character wielding PHB weapon(s) could do against ACs 10-50. Criticals accounted for, and Damage Reduction can be included if desired.

An example:

Barbarian2/Fighter18, Str 28. Feats of WF, gWF, WS, gWS, & iC for Greatsword. Wields +5 greatsword.

Edit: raging, of course

To maximize average damage round against ACs 10-50, do this:

Code:
opp AC 0 PA <dam> opt PA max <dam>
10	145.92 20	306.72
11	145.92 19	298.20

Thanks for the interest!

As I'm still checking all of the Ps and Qs with this spreadsheet, I'd rather continue to maintain and update the geocities site with newer versions. Sorry that's is such a pain with their download rate limits. I think you'll find the interest in this waning to only a couple hits/day, such that downloading won't be too much of a problem. But as the sheet becomes more static (don't get me wrong, the calculations look exact right so far, and I've tested it a lot) I may look for a more permanent and user-friendly home.
