Some feat ideas I'm kicking around to work with the ley line and nexus rules from Heroes of High Favor: Elves. They seem simple in my head, but are complicated to describe. The idea is to make a caster who is in his home area and has had time to prepare more powerful. Suspend Spell Prereq: Spellcaster 2+ While anchored to a power nexus, you may suspend a spell into the nexus. Cast the spell as normal. Make a Knowledge- Arcana check of DC 15 + the spell level. If successful, it suspends in the nexus and is considered cast as normal by you, consuming any components and using up your spell slot as normal. If you fail, it takes effect immediately. It occupies a number of anchors equal to its level and remains until affected by someone. The number of spells which can suspended in a nexus is thus limited by its rating (the number of anchors a nexus can support is limited to its rating squared). At any time later while anchored to that same nexus, you can activate that spell as a standard action. It takes effect as if no time had passed from original its original casting, and can be directed just as if you were casting it normally. Another spellcaster anchored to that nexus may notice a suspended spell as a free action with a Knowledge- arcana check of DC 25 + the spell's level. He does not need this feat to do so. He gets one roll every time he bonds to the nexus, on a random spell hung there (if more than one). Actively searching for suspended spells is a full-round action and requires the caster to have this feat. All suspended spells which the check would reveal are discovered by him. A discovered spell can be cast as if you were the original caster. A suspended spell may also be discharged without taking effect by a caster. Hang Spell Prereq: Suspend Spell, Spellcaster 5+ Knowledge- Arcana DC (25+ spell level) allows you to hang a spell in a nexus. Any spell which can be rendered Permanent on an object or area can be hung in this way. Researching may allow other spells to be hung. A hung spell is permanent, powered by the nexus. It occupies a number of anchors equal to its caster level. The original caster can end it as a standard action if he is anchored to the nexus. Another caster with this feat (and anchored to the nexus) can end it by making a Knowledge- Arcana check with DC equal to the original caster's result when he cast the spell.
