Power questions

Ok I am a new DM and am running an Eberron Campaign allowing psionics.

My brother... however has been caught red handed in my campaign after looking over his character.

He is a Psion/Egoist and had like 55 skill points OVER his class... and that is after I took all cross class skills and fixed them.

He had 1 extra feat and 3 extra spells.

The most perplexing though was his AC... and this I need help understanding.

He has Force Shield... and Inertia Armour... he is also wearing leather armor.

And he has an AC of 23... he is suppose to have 40 Psi points but he has 38 written so 2 points are used.


First problem I know is leather armor and Inertia Armor does not stack... so -3 AC

Second problem... Force Shield... it is 1 min / level... or 1 hour... How can he keep this up all day and how many points will it cost...

I ask this because for a 23 AC he HAS to keep both spells up at all times and he is docking himself only 2 psi points.


So summary...

How many psi points would it take to keep Inertia Armor and Force shield up all day?

Also how many points can you pump into a spell... say mind blast?

One more question...

He also has a tattoo of Empathetic Transfer....

I understand this to mean HE takes the damage from whoever uses the tattoo... does it still work like this or is it a heal for 2d12?

First of all he only has a chance of keeping Inertial Armor up all day. The durration of Force shield is too short, so you should make him actually say when he is activatin the power (and keep track of how much time elapses between battles).

For Inertial Armor, you would divide the number of hours you want to keep it up (say 16, since it's hard to use while you sleeping) by you level (the power lasts one hour a level)

Thus at first level it would take 16 points, at fourth only four. It might be better to declare when he's using this also.

Also how many points can you pump into a spell... say mind blast?

You can spend a total number of points up to the manifester level of the class that has the power. This includes the original power points, any augementation, and any metapsionics.

Thus a 9th level psion using Psionic Blast (3 pp) could apply the Widen Power feat (4 pp) and also augment it to increase the duration by one round (2 pp), costing a total of 9 power points, the max he can spend.

When he uses the tattoo he is considered both the target and the caster, so he would be healed 2d10 points of damage, but then would also suffer half of that amount.
