Pirates and Musketeers d20 RPG (NEW!):
Swashbuckling Adventures
SKU #: 8550
SRP: $34.95
Release: June, 2002

The road is cold and lonely, but such is the life of a highway man. Forever hunted by musketeers, dogged by angry mobs of nobles, and sought by damsels long since forgotten, the quiet life would never do for youŠ
The Swashbuckler's Handbook is the d20 book of derring do and flashing blades that you have been waiting for. Gentleman robbers and outright cut-throats play a game of cat and mouse with the kings men, the Musketeers. Who will you stand with?
Introducing one of the first "high adventure" (instead of high fantasy) settings and rule-sets that moves the d20 system beyond its Tolkien-derived norms, the Swashbuckling Handbook provides all of the rules and background necessary to run more cinematic d20 games. Focusing on a lower "magic" level than other current d20 releases, the Swashbuckling Handbook, includes details on creating and running high adventure games, and creating high adventure worlds.
Elves and dwarves aren't gone, but brave deeds and intrigue step to the forefront as the more important elements of the game. The core world setting of this game is Theah, the universe created for AEG's 7th Sea RPG. (256 pages, hardbound)

The Spycraft Modern Arm¹s Guide

I hope this thing has stats for both the VP/WP system, and the HP system. Or at least is somewhat compatible with Pinnacle's stuff.

Nearly one hundred classes?!?!!!

Salutations,

What I suspect is they are using 7th sea fighting schools/styles as PrC's, but that still would only account for a good 20-30.

*shrug*

I am interested in who is involved with the book- the Rokugan folks or the people who put out AEG's d20 sourcebooks (Dungeons, Evil, Dragons, etc.).

One *hundred* classes.

Geez. Well, if it's going to be d20 7th sea, then sign me up for it, insane number of character classes or not. <g>

Have you visited the Spycraft web page? I suggest you check out the Spycraft Lite rules in Resources:

Yeah, that's why I was wondering. Spycraft seems to use the VP/WP system, which isn't very useful in regular d20, or Deadlands or Weird Wars.

Since although superficially they are similar, the two systems have different premises. In the VP/WP system, damage represents physical injury. In the HP system, it doesn't.

So, in the VP/WP system, damage of weapons seems to be extremely variable on the size of the gun. While HP systems, it varies, but not as much, because the physical damage isn't quite as important.

The nautical smackdown continues. Pirates and Musketeers versus Skull and Bones. Steady as she goes mates. It looks to be a rough storm ahead!
