First of all, to clear my name, I'd like to say that no character of mine qualified as a 12year old gamer girl template. Many of my friends played such creatures, but I preferred such original and non-stereotypical characters as Halflings named Bilbo and bearded dwarven lasses.

As for the potentially contentious issue of releasing an executable file for April 1st, last night when I went to bed I had dreams of what kinds of nasties we could've included... Prancing unicorn screensavers, cream pie of death attacks...
Anyhoo, you now have the choice of the Self-Extracting RAR (6.8 Megs), a Regular RAR (6.8 Megs), or the Standard Zip (11.5 Megs). Compressing a graphical PDF into ZIP is an effort in futility, but there it is for you silly people who don't RAR yet.

Sorry for not including all those stories, Tensen- they were good, but not quite what I was looking for. Did you like the ad we did for y'all?

I'm one of the silly people downloading the ZIP. Mainly because I don't know what and RAR is, and wasn't sure if I had the software to read it. So, at the risk of sounding like a boob, what is an RAR?

Regarding the Magical BeastLoaf, we have three options:

option 1:

change the progression as follows (this is how it was SUPPOSED to be done in the final release - my bad)

level 1 - basic cookery
level 2 - mass cooking
level 3 - fungal gourmet
level 4 - jelly moulds
level 5 - essence of monster

option 2:

make up an ability for the Magical BeastLoaf and post it here or send it in to blackhammer@dreadgazebo.com and we'll include it as a web-enhancement for the book.

option 3:

let Denise & I write up the ability and increase the price of the P.Hole to $1 (Denise's suggestion, btw)

RAR vs ZIP

RAR is another (significantly superior - just look at the compression ratios on this book for an example) archival format. The self-extracting RAR is an EXE file that extracts itself. Plain RAR requires that you have winRAR or another RAR archival utility to unarchive it.

RAR is a compression method far, far, far better than ZIP.

Look for WinRAR with google or another search engine if you think you don't have the software. WinRAR can handle .zip, .rar, .tgz (.tar, .gz), .bzip2, .lha, .jar and several other formats.
