As far as high level goes... not a bad idea. I kind of like it as a low-level thing, but I can see how that might reduce the "prestige factor". Let's call it Heal 9+ and Skill Focus: Heal (modified above).Removed concentration & spot, added swim. Climb, jump and balance are not quite appropriate.Actually, I'm not sure what happened here. I was sure I meant to make them wizard/sorcerer equivalents...Not enough specials? Ack! I'd rather make it a 10-level version, however. The idea is that this is a defining aspect of the character, not something you can polish off in a few levels.Of those you suggested... 1. No spell caster levels. I'm trying to avoid spell casting in general. 2. I like the fear resistance. Generating fear doesn't fit so good, but if I can't get enough special stuff in, maybe. 3. Water breathing, why didn't I think of that? That goes perfectly with the fear resistance, too... 4. Wild shape: Now you're just getting whacky :). I do think I might provide some general swimming abilities, though. 5. Bardic... naw. That's more for legends and whatnot, while the swamp creature only teaches practical stuff. 6. Autoheal == Fast Healing/1. 7. Freedom of movement in natural impediments: see #4, I'm working on this idea. On to downsides: 1. Hunger... That might tie okay into the original goddess, but would fit the wave berserker better. The black healer focuses on a particular aspect of her. (For those who didn't quite follow that sentence - this PrC was originally for an IronDM entry; the wave berserker and goddess were also part of it). 2. Alien mind... hm... Probably not, but this is something to keep in mind. 3. Amphibious needs... getting to oozemaster or alienist for me, here :). Seriously, I'm not sure I want the black healer to be all that weird - just thematically very different from your stock healer type. Do you think it needs downsides beyond the devotion to a class of people, and obvious nature (black eyes)?Editted.
