Pre-gen PCs for DunDraCon, suggested prestige class?

I'm running a 2nd level 3.5 edition game, and a 6th level 3.5 edition game. I have made 7 pre-generated characters for the game (rogue, fighter, bard, duskblade, warlock, wizard, paladin), and I need to think of one more class that someone would like to play. I'm having a difficult time. I keep thinking I'll add a ranger, as the 2nd level module is nature oriented. But honestly, I'm not feeling that too much.

I suddenly thought it might be fun to explore prestige classes, as some can be entered at fairly low levels. But I'm no pro at those -- aside from the Justicar, I've never played any prestige class. So I thought I'd ask my friends here for fun ideas. What prestige classes do you like? Is there one that I could get by 6th level that would be enjoyable for a random dude at a gaming convention to play? And why would that class be fun? Does it have a good power? What is it?

(Please note, the character will appear in both the 2nd level game and the 6th level game, so while I'm really curious about how it will look at 6th level, it still needs to be a playable character at 2nd level.)

Thanks! I guess I should explain why I didn't initially try for a cleric or druid. The wizard has the Arcane Disciple feat, and so is equipped with a wand of Cure Light Wounds. The paladin and bard also have such wands. Thus, the need for a healer is minimal. The person playing the cleric would be doing it more just to get into the other class abilities, and since turning undead doesn't work in these modules, the cleric is even further limited.

The druid... I actually love the idea, but the table will be packed. So I have to avoid anything that involves cohorts, companions, summons, etc. Each PC should be self-contained, with no extra critters to bog down the gameplay.

If I end up making the ranger character, I will give him the Distracting Attack alternative class build feature that replaces the animal companion, and gives him the ability to flank with bows. That would help the rogue, and the player wouldn't have to manage a 2nd character.

Anyway, please, keep the ideas coming. Apologies for not initially putting up some info about why there wasn't a healer or summoner.
