It did remove the savings, so I hit back and click OK on the Firefox dialog box regarding reposting data yadda yadda and it took me back to the page where I provide name address, etc. That is, I had to mostly start over. The interesting part is then I got to a page where it was ready for the order but did not ask me this time about creating a new account and yet the coupon discount was there again! I completed the order, checked my receipt, entered the order number and my email address to see my order yet again and still it appears that I somehow got the discount even though I did not create a new account. I give this long-winded description in case anyone would like the discount but would prefer not to create a new account. You can always try and see if it works for you as well. At worst, you can decline to place the order or you can go ahead and create the account, but if you'd rather not, no harm in trying what worked for me. I have no idea if that would enable me to use the coupon again (moot because I have no plans to make another purchase) but there you have it.
I just switched my preorder from Amazon to B&N based on this info. My only concern is that perhaps Amazon is listing the wrong information when it says estimated to ship June 10 and that like many other preordered items it will in fact ship before June 6 so as to arrive then, while B&N may in fact ship on June 6 such that free 3-day may still be later. Of course the Amazon info may be correct and/or B&N may also ship the item early so that it arrives day of release. If nothing else it's a saving of $4 or so. A side-note: when you get to a certain point in the B&N order process it asks if you want to create an account and says if you don't you won't be eligible for coupons that require a new customer purchase. Although clearly that applied in my case, I tried clicking to not create an account just to see.
