comments would be appreciated! Armored Caster is a feat from the first Book of Eldritch Might. I despise coding tables on boards... kindly download attached document for a cleaner view. A Rune Knight is a 5 level class with Rogue BAB, Good Fortitude and Will saves, and gains spell advancement on every level except 3rd. Echtatari Rune Knight Krista ran down the cobblestones of the city of Tradesjunction, the capital of the Axis Empire. A squad of soldiers chased her, clanking about in scale mail armor and carrying halberds. She ducked into an alley, and saw a figure in the shadows, a blue eye etched into his breastplate, glowing brightly in the darkness. “I saw this coming… Have at it, psion!” She lunged… House Echt of Axis is known as one of the most eccentric of the siridar houses, ranging from strange styles of dress (tall, oddly shaped hats, exotically textured robes) to divination-fueled politically erratic behavior. In addition, House Echt is the only siridar house to train its mages to wear armor instead of forsaking it. Some mages take this a step further, and learn to enchant their baroque armor with all manner of arcane runes. Requirements: To qualify to become a Echtatari Rune Knight, a character must fulfill all the following criteria. Base Attack Bonus: +4 Craft (Carving): 8 ranks Knowledge (Arcana): 4 ranks Spellcasting: Able to cast 1st level arcane spells. Feats: Armored Caster Class Skills: Climb (Str), Concentration (Con), Knowledge (Arcana), Jump (Str), Profession (Wis), Scry (Int, exclusive skill), and Spellcraft. See the Player’s Handbook, Chapter Four: Skills, for skill descriptions. Skills at each level: 4+Int Modifier. Hit Die: d8 Weapon and Armor Proficiency: An Echtatari Rune Knight is proficient with all simple and martial weapons as well as light and medium armor. 1st level: Improved Armored Caster: An Echtatari Rune Knight can ignore 25% of arcane spell failure penalties. Rune: The signature of the Echtatari Rune Knight are the eldritch runes covering his armor. Each morning, when the Rune Knight prepares his spells, he also spends a half-hour renewing the runes in his armor, deepening the dweomers present. Eye Rune: House Echt’s symbol appears prominently on the Rune Knight’s breastplate, an unblinking eye. So long as the Rune Knight has been able to renew his runes, he adds half his Echtatari Rune Knight levels to his armor class as an insight bonus. 2nd level Luck Rune: A dice-shaped rune, the luck rune finds itself onto the left arm somewhere, usually on the left bracer. Once per day, a Rune Knight may reroll any attack, save, or skill check. Unlike most luck-related reroll abilities, the luck rune allows the Rune Knight to keep the better of the two results. 3rd level Rune Cache: A 3rd level Echtatari Rune Knight has mastered the art of ensconcing spells inside of runes. He has effectively learned the Scribe Scroll feat, but instead using his armor as the medium. Runes scribed in this fashion cost half as much in gp as their parchment counterparts, but cost the same in XP. 4th level Blasting Rune: A jagged shaped rune, the blasting rune is usually carved onto the Rune Knight’s right gauntlet. The blasting rune allows the Rune Knight to deal a total of 2d6 damage per caster level each day, delivered by a ranged touch attack. This damage may take the form of any element (acid, cold, electricity, or fire), and the Knight may only deal 1d6 per Rune Knight level in a single blast. 5th level Ultimus Rune: At the apse of his abilities, the Echtatari Rune Knight’s Eye Rune glows a bright blue. Once per day, he may cast Foresight on himself, as cast by a 20th level sorcerer. Comments would be very much appreciated!
