Halivar, I tried playing a few sessions with the DM's manuel rules and was dissappointed in them. Essentially, they are slightly more powerful than crossbows, but reload faster than crossbows. That doesn't make much sense to me. (but then again, this is DND isn't it? :) ) Though I'm still playing around a little with these new rules I think the gun's power needs to be brought down just a bit - - Guns, just aren't found with magical enchantments of +2 keen shock or +3 composite bonuses to damage ;) so they make up for it in sheer force. The extra loading time encourages carrying several guns and loading them before battle. The more guns carried = the more weight. Carrying 5 guns can be really heavy, and that's only 5 shots you have for battle. In other words, by carrying lots of firepower, you're majorly limited in the treasure you can haul off, and the armor you can wear. (Uhh...oops, I did adjust the weight of the guns a tic, but as I'm looking at the rules I copy/pasted, they look like the unadjusted ones...) I will try the 'ignores physical armor' idea and see how it goes. The arcane gunslinger sounds interesting... :) I think that if guns with traits like +2 keen of shock, etc. were included more often that it would balance out a little better. *goes off to think*
