There aren't many good sorcerer prestige classes and there are even fewer goor bard prestige classes.The best sorcerer prestige class I have seen by far is the Academy Sorcerer in the the "Age of Heroes" book for Dragonlance. It is outstanding and second to none. It provides bonuses to certain paths of study (cold spells, fire spells, lightning spells divinations etc.) similar to a specialist wizard but you can additional ones at certain levels AND you get bonus feats AND your spellcasting continues to improve as normal. The old Incantatrix prestige class from the FR setting was also very good for sorcerers although I don't know what the new FR book did to it. If you have Oriental Adventures, the Eunuch Warlock is decent. The Eldrich Master from Dragon Magazine is also decent mainly because it allows you to learn non-Sorcerer/Wizard spells.  As for bard, there really aren't any really good prestige classes that work well. Virtuoso is probably the best of a sparse lot. Beyond that you either have highly restricted ones like those from the "Draconomicon" and the "Book of Exalted Deeds" or you have to struggle to take rogue-type classes or sorcerer type classes.
