Previews for Dungeon 146 and Dragon 355 (May 2007)

Not everyone gets access to it via the Library.

Yeah, and not everyone's friends have internet access. There are still significant portions of the population that aren't on the internet.

Plus, that template shouldn't preclude any other attempt at insect lycanthropes (even if I personally think it's a silly concept). It's like complaining that there are other dragon types outside the core rules.

Col,

Uhm I don't believe the insect lycanthrope template made it into Dragon #355. I could be wrong you know but I'd think it would have been mentioned...

*does agree that the Internet is pretty elitist* I just happen to be the SOB Scarred Lands Elitist. ;)

OK, but that doesn't really invalidate anything I wrote. The main complaint seems to have been that WotC put that template on their website in 2004, and now Dragon will have insect lycanthropes in the Creature Catalog.

And they did the smart thing and cut it, rather than reprint it and use up valuable space that could've been used for new stuff. It's been stated by a few WotC authors on the D&D forums (and mentioned here once, can't remember who) that they've been trying not to reprint stuff from earlier 3.5E products because customers don't like seeing reprints all the time.
