Actually, yes. Races of Faerûn has hopped right up my list — I'm running an FR campaign so it would get a lot of use and I liked the Gray Orc write up. As for the other, that type of book's never been my scene, so I'll have to browse through it at my FLGS before I decide.

Races of Fearun looks absolutely lovely!

The Arms and Equipment guide looks REALLY crunchy.... lots of stuff that might never get used... but it might be handy to have around.

Afterall, just about every realistic weapon (and a lot of unrealistic ones) are covered in the PHB and the class suppliments. It's not like they're going to give us a lot of really common, useful stuff. It's going to be filled with crunchy details, like the Shell Armor, or Stone Armor from the last preview... or this one which deals with vehicles and armor and siege weapons. Sounds like it will be a really useful book to have if you ever want to toss a couple of catapults into the fray... but aside from that??

Bah, I'm still going to buy it. I love crunchy stuff.

Yup. Races of Faerun just did a HUUUUUUGE boing, from "probably won't get it" to "darn it, now I have to buy something in March".

Arms & Equipment didn't go any higher...it's still basically at the "I don't have to get it, but I'd really like it..." level

My reaction was the opposite.

I'm tired of subraces, and gray orcs just don't do anything for me. I was almost definitely going to buy the supplement, but now I'm reconsidering it.

I can't help but wonder how much the content of this book was influenced by the situation described in Sean Reynolds' Forgotten Rums story.

Didn't change my opinion of the Arms and Equipment guide (primarily so that I can have new materials to have my players fine and/or forge.) But I will say my opinion of the Races of Faerun has changed.

Simple...I will wait for the books to come out then decide. Books are getting pricey enough, I need to be sure I'll use it nowadays.

Arms and Armour = Probably get, but always has been.
Races of Faerun = probably get, from a probably won't get.
