My LGS has recently acquired new owners.

Last Friday, they got in more D&D stock.

The item in question was Scourge of the Howling Horde. US price $15. The price my store had it market at: AU$32. (US$24).

Hmm.

Just wondering how this compares to your LGS, especially if you're in Australia.

Cheers!

I've yet to find a gaming store (and bookstore) on the island (Oahu) that would overprice D&D game products.

Just hope you have other stores to buy your D&D stuff, if not order through the internet.

I'll check out my FLGS tomorrow (Game Quest in Adelaide) and let you know.

MilSims is currently selling it for $20 AUD.

The exchange rate difference on most gaming products in Australia is why I have resorted to buying a lot from Noble Knight Games in the US. Even with shipping costs it works out a lot cheaper. Sure I have to wait up to 3 months for the product but that doesn't really bother me.

Wow! When I order stuff from Australia I get it in about a week.

I could get the stuff from Noble Kight Games air mailed to me and it would arrive in about a week. However this would also make the shipping costs a lot more expensive. The 8-12 shipping option is by land and sea mail. That's why it takes so long. The wait only bothers me sometimes.

I am waiting on an order at the moment. It should arrive sometime between mid-December to early-January. I'm hoping that it arrives before the Christmas/New Year's break but I'm not betting my house on it.

I have friends who travel to Melbourne fairly frequently, so it should be no problem to pick things up at Mind Games (it has prices similar to MilSims).

This isn't the only product that is overpriced; they have a price of $135 on Caylus, a really good board game. In Melbourne (Mind Games), it is $85. I can travel to and from Melbourne for about $30 by train, so I can actually get it cheaper even including travel costs.

I used to spend about aus$200 or more a month at that store; I don't think I will any more.

Cheers!

We select "regular" mail, so I don't understand why there is a difference. Maybe its because I order opals and livestock medicines? Does the Australian gov't give those type of products some type of "favored" status, that allows for them to get into the US fast?

I went to Value Village last night and found some D&D books, a mix of 3.0 and 3.5 FR books, the XPH, and Eberron Campaign Setting. They were all mint condition, and all $15 canadian. I'm tempted to go back down, buy them, and flip them on eBay.
