The Marvelous Balls of Distraction The Ball is a rather stupid magic item wich happen to be quite usefull. It presents everchanging colourful patterns that tends to hypnotize the ones who look at it. Powers : When the ball is manipulated by someone, it affects everyone in a 15ft. radius as per the spell Hypnotic Pattern. However it affects up to 18HD of creatures with a save DC of 16. The creatures with the fewest HD are affected first, and among creatures with equal HD, the closest to the ball are affected first. The effect last for 3d6 rounds before the affected creatures need to make another Save roll. If this second roll fails, they are hypnotized for another 3d6 rounds and so on. As per the spell, the creatures can be shaken free by creatures not affected, allowing the victims a new save (shaking a creature free is a full round action). Any attack or obvious hostile action against the victim allow them a new save. Sightless creatures are not affected. This item can only be used once before loosing its power. It functions for a maximum of 10 minutes before the effect wears off by itself in a last explosion of wonderfull colors. Prerequisite : Craft Wondrous Item, Hypnotic Pattern Caster level : 10th Pricing breakout : Spell ability : Hypnotic Pattern 2 x 10 x 50gp (Use activated, one charge) x 2 (No space limitation) Total : = 2,000gp (Market price) Cost to create : 1,000p + 80xp Extravagant Feather This exotic bird feather is used as a rather excentric hat ornament, but allow its user to access interesting powers, given he does not want to get along without notice. Powers : The feather allow the caster to cast Prestidigitation at will. It also grants a +2 circumstance bonus to all Charisma-based skill checks. However, the wearer suffers a –10 circumstance penalty to Hide checks. Prerequisites : Craft Wondrous Items, Prestidigitation, Caster level 9th Caster Level : 9th Pricing breakout : Spell ability : Prestidigitation 1 x 1 x 1,800gp / 2 = 900gp Skill bonus : 2² x 20 (number of skills, rounded way up) x 20gp = 1,600gp Skill penalty : No cost Total : (1,600gp + 900gp x 2) x 2 (no space limitation) = 6,800gp, rounded down to 6,000gp to take Hide penalty into account Cost to create : 3,000gp + 240xp
