Print on Demand -- any good?

First Post
After dipping my toes into the PDF pond, I'm thinking about buying a PDF sourcebook that's too long for me to print, and pretty enough to want in color. ;)

Print on demand sounds like a good option, and I've read RPG Now's POD preview section, but I'm still not sure it's worth it (POD: $12.95 + shipping, PDF: $5.00). The main thing I'm curious about is the binding -- RPG Now mentions several types, but not which types are used for which books.

The PDF is Poisoncraft: The Dark Art, from Blue Devil Games, if anyone who has bought the POD version wants to comment on it. Thanks in advance! :)

I emailed Blue Devil directly, and got a prompt and friendly reply. :)

For the curious, the POD version of Poisoncraft is perfect bound, like graphic novels and medium-sized gaming supplements tend to be. This is what I hoped to hear, so I'll definitely be picking up the POD version.

I've seen several PODS at game conventions and they have a nice, professional look to them. All of the ones I saw were perfect bound books.

the only POD book i have is Sidewinder: Recoiled. to me, it's just as professional a publishing job as just about any other 3rd party book i've bought recently. works for me! :)
