His physical appearance and accent suggest Smith is in his mid-thirties and spent considerable time living in a major metropolitan area along the East Coast. Given his knowledge base, he predominantly worked as a homicide detective. Otherwise, almost everything else about him remains a mystery.</p><p></p><p>After a celebrated career as a police officer and then a detective on the homicide beat, Ramsey Martin uncovered corruption within his department and the city government that made him doubt everything he believed in and worked for. He carried out an investigation on his own and ultimately dug into the darkest corners of the underworld. He discovered connections between his city, the mega-corporation Mannheim Industries, an up-andcoming street gang, and even the terrorist organization Helix. None of these groups reacted favorably to his Digging. Upon realizing the extent of the corruption, Martin believed the only way to fight back was to become a vigilante. For a time, he earned notoriety and fame among the public for his actions.
