Problem with Firefox. Please Help!

I'm running the lastest version of Mozilla Firefox and it just ate all of my bookmarks, both those in the drop down menu and those on the toolbar. Does anyone know how to get those back, as I could really do without having to go back through all the sites I had bookmarked and re-mark them.

Its a fairly common problem with Firefox.Usually happens when the profile is damaged. Try looking in you profile under Program Files- Mozilla Firefox, and see if they're there.

You can also try searching your computer for the lost bookmarks as bookmarks.txt files.

Here is a link to some stuff about bookmarks from the Firefox support forums. There is a cool extension called Bookmark Backup that saves your bookmarks each time Firefox is closed.

The forums might also have additional info to help recover your bookmarks.

I haven't upgraded to the newest Firefox versions cause they always seem to be bug-heavy, especially bookmark-losing-wise.

I've never had a problem with bookmarks, but especially if you use more than one computer you might want to check out https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/2410/

In many cases, you can search for bookmarks.html on your computer. All your bookmarks should be stored in this file.

Once you create a new profile, to get them back, click on Bookmarks, Manage Bookmarks. Click on File, Import.
