I know you don't want to railroad them, but perhaps you can arrange an encounter with the wife in the marketplace, and she could apologise for her husband's behaviour and perhaps ask what they wanted to check for. If you can strike up conversation that way, they at least have to decide whether to explain what they wanted, and she would rightfully be concerned if there was danger to her household.</p></blockquote><p></p>
