It's a little slow going, but I should have the first tower pictures up either sometime tomorrow or Sunday. ... I had a much longer reply, but in the middle of it, I accidentally used this tab to search for something, and lost everything I wrote. At any rate... Supplies for 1 tower include 1 sheet of craft Styrofoam (1"x12"x36") From this, I cut out eight 3" strips. Each strip I in turn cut into lengths of 3" (the tower walls are 15ft long on each side), 3", 5", and 1". I did this because the towers have two levels, and I wanted to pull off the top layer so that the players can see into the lower level. After cutting the styro down into those individual lengths, I did some quick math to figure out the necessary angles to trim these blocks so that they actually line up in an octogon when pieced together. After getting the general shaping out of the way, I had to read the descriptions carefully as well as look at the pictures to get the height of things pretty accurate. I then either cut out, or added on, so that each wall section looked "about right" Gluing the pieces together is a bit unwieldy, as the craft lady sold me some glue "made for styrofoam" ( Hold the Foam Adhesive Product Details ). It works, quite well actually, but it takes a loooooong time to set. When this tube runs out, I'll shop around until I find me som 3M Spray Adhesive for Styrofoam. Because I just moved, I had a small "tub" of spackling on hand, so I then commenced to spackling a very thin layer overtop the foam. I'm glad I did this, because I think it'd take the paint better in the next step, and wont look so much like styrofoam. As I said before, pictures to come!
