Proper Terminology for Spell-like Abilities?

What's the proper terminology for using spell-like abilities?

Is it "X casts _____"

or

"X invokes _______"

or something else?.?.

The description simply says "using a spell-like ability ...".

So, I'd say... The <creature> uses his/her/its <name of spell-like ability> ability, if used in a technical way. If used in a more descriptive way, I wouldn't mention the spell-like ability at all, just describe the effect and maybe how the creature concentrates, or something to that degree.
