Each item will seem at first to have inconsequential powers but at the right time and in the right place, the item will allow them to overcome an obstacle, or defeat a villian or perhaps just give them an escape route. One of the items I came up with will be a small brass bell, that when rung, will ring all bells in a 2 mile radius for one minute. This will come in to play when the PCs face off with a golem guardian that has a trigger to church bells.
