Protection from getting stoned

Is there a spell that will protect you from the effects of flesh to stone, from say a basilsk?

Specifically a Basilisk can be gotten reduced with Gaze Screen (Skip Hates Sorcerers, page 90) - but that kind of sucks.

Alternately, you can add to or lose all of your Constitution. Flesh to Stone is a Fortitude save that affects creatures only, so it is powerless against Undead, Constructs, and Raging Frenzied Berserkers.

Freedom (level 9), Prismatic wall (level 8), protect from petrification.

Apart from that... you're better off protecting yourself from the attack that actually causes the petrification (avoiding the gaze, resistance against magic, etc)

If you're protected from getting stoned, doesn't that undermine the entire point of doing drugs, which is to get stoned?

Gaze Screen from T&B. Let's you keep your eyes open with only a 50% of being affected by a gaze attack, but I could swear there's a magic item somewhere that let's you keep your eyes open safely.
