1e & 3e We used the rules in the 1E players handbook. One of the players in the campaign had a Dwarf Assassin who had hypnosis as one of his abilities/powers...he made alot of money. We all had 5-7 characters each (not all played at the same time) and I think each one of us had at least one psionic character. From a player perspective it was fun to get the psionic powers without having to sacrifice anything for them...you became more powerful as you increased in your normal class levels. What I did like about the 1E psionics rules was that your point/strength total was set based on your Int, Wis and Cha and a dice roll. You could have a 1st level plebe who happened to be psionic with a huge strength number and a 20th level character by virue of his roll and Int, Wis and Cha was actually weaker but had more psionic minor and major powers. It fit well with descriptions of psionics in many sci-fi books. Really, I think the 3.xE rules are just an alternative magic system flavored with powers of the mind. Still playing with the idea of figuring out a way to add the 1E version of psionics to 3.5E rules (maybe feats and skills expended to increase powers/psionic points totals.) However, my kids have rolled up a Psion and Psychic Warrior. We haven't played them yet, but we will. Thanks, Rich
