Like the old Forgotten Realms Adventures book that said there was No Psionics! in the realms after the Time of Troubles? Which was immediately followed by a Psionicist in Undermountain, Psionic Drow in the Dark Elf novels, Cadderly becoming the chosen of Deneir and gaining half the powers in the Complete Psionics handbook. :D I think Eberron has plenty of opportunity for psionic development; With the Kalashtar entering Khorvaire, I would assume they are teaching as they go. They know that one day the Inspired will turn their attention to Khorvaire. Their best students? A hidden valley of golden haired Halflings who ride Ti-Khana Raptors(See Amberhair Halflings in Kingdoms of Kalamar and Fiend Folio). They have also discovered an unusual tribe of Blue goblins that have psionic potiential. What if the people of Sarlona were not the first to be contacted by the Quori? There was another group of psionic humans who made the first contact, but soon realized that they had made a serious mistake with their new "friends" and they fough back, but lost their homeland and were forever changed by the taint of chaos. They are now known as Maenads, their ships can be encountered along any coastline in Khorvaire, but are most common in the Lhazaar Pricipalities. Their home island was destroyed by the Quori, their new homes are huge ships, piloted and kept conceiled by their Unbodied ancestors. Everyone has read the stories of expeditions to Xen'Drik, but only a few realize that there have been expeditions from Xen'Drik! The last true decendants of the ancient giant kingdoms are the Half-Giants. But as they are exploring Khorvaire, they are realizing that these Humans may not be the enemy they once thought they were. Perhaps these humans can help them regain parts of their home lost to the Vermin races (Dromites, Thri-kreen, Neogi, Manscorpions, Abeil, Formians, Meenlock, Aranea and Chitines). There was once an experiment done by the Inspired in Sarlona, an attempt to create a better "vessal", but the expeiment failed. The creations were found to be immune to Quori possession. These new creatures, called Elan, did find one use. The Inspired would grant "imortality" to their loyal (and valuable) servants. They serve the inspired as the Templars serve the Dragon Lords in Dark Sun. There are however two other sources of Elan in Sarlona. A rebel group managed to find out the secrets of rebirth and are now creating as many elan as they dare without the Inspired learning of them. The other are "spontanious" Elan, they are the decendants of the original Elan expeiments. No one as yet has figured exactly what triggers this in them. When the Daelkyr invaded, there were some who willingly joined their invasion. One was an outcast clan of Dwarves, now know as Duergar. The others were humans, many of which were sent back Xoriat to become "better" servants. These are now known as Githyanki and Githzerai and serve as the martial troops to their Illithid masters.
