I've run games with Axel, Slash, and Duff before. (And no, I wasn't playing with the Guns and Roses crew.) I've also had players who named their characters after the acronyms of sex acts. That's gaming male teenagers for you. :D

I gamed with a guy once who insisted that his character be called Captain Limpdick. The player in question was not a teenager, nor was he asked back for a second game.

I've seen lots of silly names in my games, from Pat McCrotch to Fingerus Anus to Batticus Finch (the southern anthromorphic bat lawyer)

what a wacky group I hang out with.

I know a guy who named ALL of his characters Logan Ford, and simply put a Roman numeral after each one ("Oh, Logan Ford VI died? OK, I rolled up a fighter...he's Logan Ford VII"). He said that his character was as brave as Logan (from Logan's Run), but had a low Dexterity like Gerald Ford (for you young whippersnappers, he was the President that kept tripping, crashing into things, etc). Gives you an idea just how long ago this was.

Another player had a Thief named Sneeky, a Monk named Selabit, a Bard named Revela, and a female Paladin named Temptra (!?!).

played with a guy in college who would name his characters with a very predictable method. The names would all consist of 2 words, the first being a type of metal and the second being a body part.

Hence, Titanuim Skeleton, Iron Lung and Brass Balls

PvP is my absolute favorite comic!

By the way, for those so inclined, Cole's hat is available here:

If you're not familiar with PvP, give it a read!

My gaming group bought me the hat a few Christmases ago. I wear it on occasion, especially at cons, when I want to go for the "Gaming DM Dork Look". I don't read the strip anymore, but the hat does indeed rock, and occupies a place of honor on my shelf, right next to plush Cthulhu! :D
