I love the Arcane Casters classes. Always have, always will. And while the new features & subclass system has done them well in 5e - the Necromancy Wizard is finally a better actual necromancer than any generic evil Cleric - there is one area that I'm not so happy with. Spells. We all know the common complaints, like the fact that if you want to be an Evoker Wizard or an actually effective Dragon Sorcerer, you've basically only got Fire spells in your arsenal. This is especially galling after coming from 4th edition, where every single class had its own, completely unique set of spells with no overlap between them.
So, rather than whine about it, I was planning on doing something. Between 4th edition and Black Isle, and maybe even Pathfinder, I've got a reservoir of new spells to tap for converting/updating to 5th edition. Only problem is, I've never actually worked on updating spells before... would folks be willing to critique my efforts so I can try and get them to be reasonably balanced? I really don't want to be making stuff too overpowered to be viable.
Also, between the choice of Black Isle's spells - the stuff from Baldur's Gate, Icewind Dale and Planescape Torment - and 4th edition, which would people prefer me to start converting from?
