One of the things I like about spells is imagining how wizards would use them to be just like us, living the comfortable life. I'd love to see a "Happy Wizards Spell List" for while you're in your home base:
0:
Mage Hand (my quill's across the room...)
Prestidigitation (best spell ever)
Mending (all that lazing around leads to splits in the seat of your robes)
Light (casting a spell, one step; lighting a taper then a candle? 2 steps)
1:
Endure Elements (summer, man's oldest foe. Winter, woman's oldest foe)
Unseen Servent (Sure, you could get your cat to do chores, but... this is better)
Charm Person (shopping's so much easier when you don't have to bargain)
Disguise Self (always have your hair straight or your makeup perfect)
2:
Detect Thoughts (too tempting not to use)
Locate Object (where are my keys??)
Invisibility (for when the in-laws come to visit)
Ability booster spells
What do you think would be good High Level quality of life spells? And should 4e include this kind of magic?
