query about awarding experience

Hi there,
I've recently started posting on the forums, and things are ok when making a normal reply.
However, when I award experience to a post that I like, it comes up as being neutral rather than friendly/appreciative. The pop-up box for awarding XP only has one option - "I approve", but when I type in a comment and submit, it comes up as neutral/unimpressed.
How do I change this?

You need to do ten posts first.

I thought it was 10 posts or recieved 1+xp.

Well, the xp test is covered and 3 more posts and it will be a sure thing

it is in fact 10 posts and not at all related to how much xp you have received/given
