Message: <blockquote data-quote="RUMBLETiGER" data-source="post: 5779732" data-attributes="member: 6674868">I'm not entirely sure if this is a Legacy Forum spefici question, so if this thread is better redirected, I'd appreciate if a Mod could do so. I was reading the entry in the 3.5 Monster Manual on the Owlbear.  In the picture, under the creature's left foot, appears to be a white square with a triangle pattern along the side.  Wondering what that was got me to thinking about the D&D images in general.   Many of the pictures in many of the books appear to have been cut out and the image edited to allow for the text to be written around it, with the image inserted in the spaces.  I'm assuming when the original painting for the Owlbear was done, it contained more than the image we see, and it was shaped later in the publishing. My question is this:  Is there a source where we can see the original, pre-edited artwork for many of the D&D images?  Do the artists have thier own websites, or has an artwork-only book ever been produced, etc?</blockquote>
