question for Githianky campaign

I need your help...

I like Polyhedron Knights of the Lich Queen issue and am thinking about starting a githianky campaign. I have two questions:

1. Which psionics handbooks should I use?
I've read today that there will be a 3.5 Psionics Handbooks out April next year, but since the 3.0 version got bad reviews (as far as I can remember) and since I don't want to wait until April - wich sourcebook do you experienced DMs recommend?

2. Is there a sourcebook out in which gizerai are described?
I got the old Planescape guide to the Astral Plane so I am ok with backround on the githianky. But what about there lawful cousins? Were they in an old Planescape book?

Thanks guys.

That really depends on when you'd like to start, April is rather far off.

The Psionics Handbook actually was rather well received, much more so then originally thought. In fact there is only one bad review for it here, check here for a number of reviews.

There are a lot of people who just don't like psionics for one reason or another, don't confuse that with actually opinions on the quality of the PsiHB.

p.s. I like it.

Do you by chance mean Githzerai? They aren't Lawful, but are neutral compared to the Githyanki's evil and the two are traditional enemies (all other types of Gith are rather obscure). If so the Githzerai, and Githyanki by the way, are in the Psionics Handbook, the Manual of the Planes, and the 3.5 Monster Manual.

If you're intent on using psionics I'd suggest going with that version, if not and you're sticking with 3.0 go with the MotP version, if you're upgrading go with the 3.5 MM version, or just use which ever one is in a book you own.

If you want to try a really nifty alternate Psionic system, check out the Malhavoc Press release "Mindscapes". Its really a great supplement, and introduces an entire alternate way of dealing with Psionites.
