Question for Piratecat...

I envy people like Mearls who can crank out 8000 words in a day. Writing for me is hard, doubly so when it isn't a "story." But it's tremendously rewarding knowing that people enjoyed it so much. That's just plain cool.
I too envy Mr. Mearls ability to write at will. I just can't keep that kind of pace up for very long. (Yes, I have my World of Kulan obsession, but I've cut back a bit on that lately too.)

For me, co-writing Enigma of the Arcanexus with Darrin Drader was a great thrill for me. [And at that point, Darrin wasn't even (in)famous yet.] Yes, I've done other work since then but most of it was a lot easier than writing a whole chapter of an adventure.

It's funny. My chapter was only suppose to be 1,500 words and yet I couldn't stop adding more elements to my chapter. Thus, it came out to around 3,500 words. I offered to try to cut it down but DD and Tony really liked what I came up with so the adventure got bigger.

Anyway, I understand P'Cat's feelings... it's always great when someone tells you how much they enjoyed something that you helped create. It's a great ego boost.

Cheers!

Let's clone piratecat many times and have *them* write a whole campaign path! Seriously, piratecat, just quit your day job and write story hours; stop being so selfish!

*blink*

Which makes me wonder - while surely P-cat is the best of us, such that the rest of us would not be in a position to match him, really. Still...

I wonder what a round-robin adventure path written by the mods might be like... hmmm....

It's not false modesty to say that this isn't true. It is true, though, that I'm a much better writer than I used to be seven years ago! EN World has been really good for me.

Same here with thinking this was going to be about Of Sound Mind II. I know Piratecat's given his reasons for not going forth with Of Sound Mind II as he had originally intended, but any chance of him publishing another adventure of any kind? His original still remains one of my all-time favorite low-level adventures.

Johnathan

What were the reasons exactly?
