Question on Maximize Power..

Under Maximize Power it states:

All variable, numeric effects of a power modified by this feat are maximized.

It goes on to say:

Augmented powers can be maximized; a maximized augmented power deals maximum damage (or cures maximum hit points, and so on) of the augmented power.

So my question is... Force Screen, for example, is an augmentable power. For every 4 pp you spend, it increases the Shield bonus to AC by +1. The value is a variable, because it can be any number between +1 and whatever. It doesn't have a maximum it can go up to, but the pluses to AC would be considered a variable. So if I modified Force Screen using Maximize Power, what would the bonus be to AC? Infinite? Heh...

The value of Force Screen isn't variable. It's static based on the number of points you put into it. (Every single time you spend 5 psp's, Force Screen gives you a +5 bonus. Hence non-variable)

Maximize only works on powers that have an "xdy" component (Ex: 5d6 for Energy Bolt)

It only affects the outcome of things that involve rolling dice for some numeric affect. Anything that is set at the time of casting/manifesting is not truly variable.
