questions: 1)manufactured weapons 2) St.temptate 3) Vo peace & pov synergy bonuses

1) weapons must make fort save or break when striking any one with the vow of peace. Does this include magicals? The manufactured weapons means, and I am assuming, anything made, correct? It did not give allowance for, nor exclude magicals? Also does the +4 to all supernatural, spells, spell like ability's from the prerequisite vow of nonviolence influence the save DC for those manufactured weapons?

2) Saint Template question: 1st, is a level 2 adjustment enough? I have to say, it seems like an awful lot of bonuses for a 2 level sacrifice..... 2nd why would they be given a bones DR vs everything but evil? You would think they would have a 5 damage reduction only vs evil, or is that what they mean by DR 5/evil.....3rd when they say double strength nimbus aura which is a combo of magic circle vs evil and globe of invulnerabilty are they including radius and/or level of spell protection? Basically just saying double strength will leave my players and I a little grey area to debate over.

3) The +1 natural ac bonus of vow of peace and the +2 natural ac bonus from the vow or poverty do not stack? I saw a post saying this. I have never run across this question before so I dont know the answer. I will have to take their word for it. Also under vow of peace it says if you have the vow of poverty "the natural armor bonus, deflection, and exalted armor class bonuses granted by that feat all increase by +2."

and under Vow of Poverty it would give said 10th level Monk a + 7 exalted bonus to AC, so add +2 for the "synergy bonus" = 9. This 10th Monk would have at 6th level a +1 deflection bonus to his AC, so add +2 as the synergy = +3 deflection bonus to AC. Then at 8th level he got a +1 natural AC bonus, so add +2 for the synergy bonus = +3
for a 9+3+3= +15 to AC correct? Add on 20dex, 20wis =+10...so far a +25 total then add on +2 for his Monk'ism = 27

Hmmm...

I'm currently stoned from the acid in lemon juice. Its wonderful, everybody should drink lemon juice (mixed with water, that stuff is highly acidic)

Anyway, when did the term "magicals" start showing up for magic weapons? Not to be the pissy stoned guy, but it annoys me. It doesn't make sense, is confusing, and ambivalent. It should be stopped.

1) Yes, VoP includes magical weapons, but they get bonuses. It does not include artifacts.

2) Don't double the caster level. Please. That's hideous.

3) They have the same name ("natural") and so don't stack. Like named bonuses don't stack. Except for dodge bonuses, and that exception is pretty clear in the races section of the PhB (check dwarves)

So yeah. monks with VoP are pretty cool. But as has been said in the other threads about it, its got a huge RP part to it. Ginormous, even. I stil want a half-orc sorcerer (both slightly modified) with VoPoverty. It'll be cool. Especially if I give him a nice little level of Barbarian. I think I can turn rage into a defensive thing -- ie, the extra hitpoints.

I'm going back to lurking. I've been to active lately.

As for the Vow of Peace/Vow of Poverty AC bonuses, it explicitly says that the +2 is added to the VoP bonuses "If you have the Vow of Poverty feat, the natural armor, deflection, and exalted bonuses all increase by +2" The way im reading it, thats putting the +2 natural armor, +2 deflection, and +2 exalted bonuses given by VoPeace on top of the ones from VoPoverty. Its simply putting it that way because otherwise they wouldnt stack. The +2 listed at the first of the paragraph is simply the +2 increase to the Vow of Poverty bonuses listed later.

As for the magical weapons.....I would simply give them a bonus on the save equal to the magical bonus on the weapons (DMs call if he counts everything so a +3 holy ghost touch would be a +6).

I havent looked at the saint template yet tho

1) yes, it includes magical weapons

2) Saint Template

- 1st. A +2 level adjustment is enough if you play the character from 1st lvl AND if you don't play in a hack'n'slash campaign. Otherwise, use +4!

- 2nd. It's flavor. Saints are protected by the gods from all harm, except for those horribly evilly tainted things. Why would fire gods give their clerics the fire subtype, when that actually makes them vulnerable to their enemies from the ice god? You get it? ;)

- 3rd. Double strength means +4 deflection bonus to AC and +4 resistance bonus to saves (that's the way it worked in 2nd edition)

3) bonus of the same type almost never stack, certainly never a natural armor bonus
