From James Wyatt -- "All about dragons! I coauthored this book with Skip Williams and Andy Collins, in about equal parts—talk about good company! My parts included playing dragon PCs, dragon prestige classes, spells and magic items, and some material about dragons in combat. It seems like the book is taking forever to come out—I finished my work on it just over a year ago. But it will be worth the wait. And the art is awesome!"

Dragon PC's and Prestige Classes?!? Can't imagine what those Prestige Classes will look like, but it sounds interesting. Like the PC bit, too. So would this make this book sort of a semi-replacement for Council of Wyrms?

So does anyone else know anything about this book? For instance, does it just give you generic dragon information, does it offer suggestions on dragons from different worlds (Forgotten Realms, Dragonlance, etc), and/or does it present ideas for a new setting (Like, say, Council of Wyrms)? Whatever the case, sounds interesting.

[pure speculation]
Dragon PrCs:
Dragon that focuses mainly on breath weapon. Gets metamagic-like feats, increased damage, increased speed of use (every 1d3 rounds instead of 1d4? Maybe every round? )

Dragon that foregoes magic, relying solely on his [Ah-nold]superior muscular physique[/Ah-nold] to beat the living (and un-living) daylights out of his opponents. Mental abilities (INT WIS CHA) progress at a slower pace.

As a counterpoint to that, maybe a dragon focusing solely on spellcasting. Gains reduced damage for his physical attacks, and his physical abilities (STR DEX CON) improve at a slower pace.

Tactician Dragon. Built for any battle situation, employes a variety of special abilities to sculpt the battlefield to his liking, or to take advantage of certain characteristics of the terrain. Mix of close-quarters fighting style (reduced penalties for "squeezing"?) with open-air assaults (improving on the Fly-by attack and related feats). Gains Su and/or Sp abilities for battle-magic. Buff spells, and tactical spells like the "wall" series. Lots of abjuration maybe.

Feats:
Expect a good bit to be lifted from Savage Species, as many would be beneficial to a dragon. Feats for improving breath weapon/spell-like abilities. Lots of aerial combat feats (maybe lift the section from DLCS on aerial combat?!? Please?).
[/pure speculation]

It's a book I'm looking forward to.

As the self-proclaimed Dragon Fiend here I will have this book when it comes out. Then I'll be able to torment you all with new dragon creations.
