Questions about Psionics in 3.5E...

Any playtesters have any idea if WotC say anything about these powers and how they are affected by the changes in 3.5E?

I would assume that Animal Affinity also changes to 1 min/level, in line with the 2nd level spell stat boosters.

How about Schism?

Is there any mention of this at all made in the document? Or does it need to be decided by the individual DM? Are the changes to spell durations/effects generic enough to be extrapolated to the psionic powers?

Psionics aren't being addressed by the 3.5 revision.

Andy Collins did drop a cryptic hint on his message boards that might indicate a psionics revision some time down the road, though:

I'll just say this: We haven't forgotten the psionics fans out there.

So are any playtesters adapting the psionics rule set to 3.5E? PC? Anybody? Any suggestions? I have a campaign I was hoping to start this summer with the new 3.5 rules.

Wasn't there a rumor, that the winning entry of the WOTC setting search used psionics?

If that is true, then it would seem pretty obvious that they would want to clean up the psionics book (thank god)...

If they really thing they need the 1 min / level duration for certain spells, they will probably use it for Psionics at well.

Some things might need fixing: Some things of the Psionics seem unbalanced (in both directions - sometimes to weak, sometimes to strong).
Whitefire deals 5d4 damages and is a 3rd level power, and, so, is comparable to fireball which deals at least 5d6 points of damage.
I can see (and do agree) that the lack of scaling with level for most powers makes sense, but I think whitefire is simply to weak for its level.
On the other hand - Conceal Thougts, a 1st or 2nd level power grants you a +20 bonus to bluff checks - this is simply to much for a single power, especially at this level. Bluff has some combat uses (feinting, every bard and rogue would love to have this power), and outside of combat, it is effictively unbeatable...

Other rules might not need direct fixing, but would probably be prefered handled otherwise (Psionic Combat). I don`t think these issues will be adressed with a 3.5 version...

I have a psion in my game. I found it really easy to convert all of his powers known to equate with similar spells. (Animal Affinity, for example, I changed to 1 min/level and a flat +4. simple enough) I only converted powers that this character has. So I can't speak for the entire package. But I did not find it difficult at all for what I did do.
