Today I noticed something and got an idea. Now I have to ask those who can programm in PHP or similar to know the feasability of a potential project : My daughter is playing an online game about horses. It's a simple website programmed in PHP where you raise horses and have them participate to virtual races. The interesting things I noticed, is that people can phone a special number (costing them 2 or 3 $ in the process) to get more virtual money to raise and improve their horse. Now this site has 195,000 active players! I guess that many of them pay (a simple phone call) to get more virtual money for their virtual horses, and thus the website owner must make some money! I thought of doing something similar. However I don't programm in PHP. I will need someone to associate with, if the project appears to be feasible. My idea would be that I would do all the visual appearance of the website, with texts, etc. Then, the "game" would be based on drawings : imagine this would be a game of gladiators. You choose your gladiator, nude. Then, with money you train him so the character visually gets more muscles, and you can equip him with armor, weapons, etc. Of course, one can have several gladiators in his stable, which brings benefits, etc. So, my part would be of drawing gladiators and equipment. Players would be able to have their custom characters. Then, one could challenge another player based on what he looks like. The computer would resolve the combats. Players would pay to improve their characters faster... My question is : how much work would it take for a PHP (or else) programmer to create such a programm? Is it easy or complicated (for someone who knows the job)? Any other comment? Thanks
