Quick! Character advice

OK, roll out your 3.0 skillz. Tonight we are making characters for a game, first time we have played this year (what with having a baby and all), so I'm just a tad rusty.

I'm making a dirty-fighting-rogue-fighter type character, and my wife is making a non-combat-cleric-heading-for-divine oracle type character. We are starting at level 6. Any quick advice on suitable feats / skills / spells etc to help flesh out these concepts would be most appreciated.

The halfling would likely do well to take Empower Spell and Maximize spell. This will make her curing spells more potent, and it will make them a more viable option for spontaneous casting when she gets to higher levels.

As for your character, I'd suggest some basic feats to improve his weapon of choice, possibly expertise, dodge, mobility, and spring attack. Then, as long as your dex and int are both above 13, that will set you up to be able to take whirlwind for your next feat.

If you're using Defenders of the Faith check out that feat that lets the cleric cast healing spells at range. Since you're going to be bouncing around all over the place, she'll need it to keep up with you.

If you have access to the 2 Relics and Rituals books then have your wife look at healers benidiction. this feat allows you expend one of your daily turning attempts and gain maximized healing dice up to your CHA modifier. ie a 14 CHA casting a cure serious wounds spell would heal 16 points +1d8 +6 for her level. if you don't often encounter hordes of undead the cleric needs to turn it can be a faster way to heal the party.
