Depends on where the forest is. Silver dragons live in the mountains, so a mountain forest could house one. Bronze lives in temperate hills, and copper in warm hills, so hilly country of the appropriate type with a forest could house one of those.

Seriously, though, Bronze if a jungle, otherwise Gold but in a very secluded hideyhole.

Well, gold dragons like warm plains and brass dragons the desert, so they are not as likely to be in a forest. However, when you get down to it, those preferences the game lists are just that, preferences. You could find a metalic dragon of any color with different preferences and living in a different terrain environment.

My vote goes to Bronze. Lounging in hidden grottos and secluded glades. Lairing behind unknown waterfalls or long forgotten lakes. Keeping magical treasures hidden beneath centuries old tree roots and at the bottom of secret pools. Keeping an eye and ear on the forest and surrounding/abutting mortal realm, in the form of any creature it wants. Befriending -or at least known to- the other magical beings within the wood. Wandering into town from time to time as a merchant or "eccentric hermit who lives in the woods" when something unusual happens in town (like a group of adventurers showing up for some unknown purpose). Fighting over territory with/seeking to eliminate a Green (or looking for aid to do so with a green of significant age/power beyond them).

Bronze gets my vote for a typical temperate forest/woodland (and/as has always been my assumption, as every other good dragon is given a specific terrain. There was no association of bronzes as the "water/coastal" dragon until 3.x)

You always have the option to go with the one that best fits your game and player needs. I would tend to go with one of the above posts with having the forest 2nd to the primary terrain. Bronze in temperate hills and copper in warm hills.

Because of the way humans evolved, we like and consider 'good' wide open spaces. For our stone age ancestors, being out in the open with broad vistas was safer from predators than closed in spaces like forests. It's why we aspire to having a good view. So, because we associate closed in with bad, it's green and black dragons that get the closed in forest and swamp environments, while various good dragons get places like coast, hills, and mountains. Basically, no, good dragons don't go for forests unless it just happens to be a part of the climate and next to topography that they do like.
